we have wift off

An adventurous octokitten has dreams of orbiting the moon. Despite her failed attempts, she finds new octokitten friends to jump on board and lend a hand to successfully launch the rocket of their dreams into The Universe…with a little help from Hubot.

PreProduction

This was the first time we added new characters, which necessitated a host of visual development guidelines such as character development. We needed to create new characters and personalities. Here are a few behind-the-scenes character sheets to show our process.

Everything from backgrounds to animation were produced digitally and by hand. The team used Adobe and Toon Boom software to produce the animation. Here are a a few process steps of our pipeline along the way.

Extras

There were tangential projects that were included in this campaign - ie posters, stickers and a virtual reality experience at the Universe conference. The VR rocket ship activation was built out of cardboard aligning with the storyline of the octokittens. The ride launches you to the moon where an astronaut-ocat was waiting for you.
